Welcome to your weekly invitation to meditate on the inspiriting work of a brave sister living and giving from her place of Divine gifting.
This week’s featured piece is Roar by Katy Perry.
Do you ever feel that the circumstances of life hold you back or press you down? Are there experiences in your past that have forced you to seek inner healing, restoration, or forgiveness? Of course the answer to these questions is YES, because you’re human.
These experiences are inevitable. They may hurt, but they can’t destroy you.
They may leave a mark, but they can’t possess you.
They may cause later insecurities, but they can’t speak once silenced.
You’re the boss! You determine your boundaries and limits.
Today, take Katy’s lyrics and make them you’re mantra. Read them as your own:
You held me down, but I got up (hey!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ’cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter
Dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar!
They held you down, but you got up! You are a champion! Let them hear you roar!
What have you overcome and how are you better for it? How will you leverage that strength and betterment to get up, brush off the dust, and be the champion you are?
